Recipes

Freshly Ground Whole Wheat Bread:

Natural foods or poisonous drugs?  The choice is obvious.Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Whole Wheat Kernels (preferably organic) (or 2 3/4 cups Freshly Ground Whole Wheat Flour for a lighter loaf)
  • 320 ml's Warm Water
  • 1 Package Active Dry Yeast (1 tablespoon)
  • 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter (or Cold Pressed Olive Oil)
  • 1 Tablespoon Raw Honey (or Alternative Sweetener)
  • 1 Teaspoon Natural Hand-harvested Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Natural Whey (or Lemon Juice)

In a separate bowl combine the yeast, honey and 1 1/2 cups warm water and put aside for 5 - 10 minutes until the combined ingredients rise and foam.

Method for Whole Wheat Kernels:

Pour whole wheat kernels into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Turn on blender to Low Speed setting for 20-30 seconds. Then increase using the High Speed setting and grind the grain for about 1 minute or until the grain is ground to a flour. Leave in blender to cool.

(Note: It is important not to over blend your grain, plus let your grain cool down after grinding.)

Method for Freshly Ground Whole Wheat Flour:

Pour the freshly ground flour in the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Turn blender to the Low Speed setting and blend for a few seconds until a well forms in the centre of the flour.

Dough Preparation:

In a separate small bowl combine 100mls of warm water, yeast and raw honey and leave for 5 minutes or until it bubbles. Melt butter and set aside. After the yeast mixture bubbles add the melted butter, salt and lemon juice.

To make the dough, pour yeast and melted butter (or oil) mixture, plus the additional 220 ml's of warm water into the hole in the flour (formed by the blender). Secure lid.

To blend the dough, use the Pulse Switch and pulse for a few seconds or until a dough ball forms in the centre. If the dough is too wet, just add a small amount of flour to make a dough consistency. Remove lid (only), and let the yeasted dough rest in the blender until it has doubled in size.

As the dough rests in the blender, grease a loaf tin with butter or olive oil.

Kneading the Dough:

Kneading the dough is as simple as 1-2-3.

  • Step 1: After the dough has doubled in size, use a large silicone spatula to remove the dough from the sides into the centre of the blender.
  • Step 2: Press the Pulse Switch in a quick pulsing on and off action until the dough turns into a ball in the middle of the blender. You will only need to pulse about 5 or 6 times.
  • Step 3: Let the dough rest again in the blender until it has doubled in size.

Repeat the above 3 Step process above 1 more time (more if needed) until the dough becomes soft and elastic. When ready to place the dough into your loaf tin, always finish on Step 2.

How to Remove the Kneaded Dough Straight into the Loaf Tin:

Removing the dough from the blender container could not be easier. Pulse the blender one more time if needed. Flip the blender container upside down, straight over your loaf tin and let the weight of the dough release it into your tin below. If there is any dough remaining in the blender container, just use a wet silicone spatula to remove the remaining dough.

Now use a wet (or oiled) silicone spatula to straighten the dough to fit neatly inside the bottom of your loaf tin. Place the dough in a warm place and let the dough rise until the top of the dough reaches the top of your loaf tin. This may take 15 minutes to ½ hour, depending on your room temperature.

Baking Instructions:

Pre-Heat your oven to 180°C (350° F). Place loaf tin in the centre of your oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the loaf is slightly browned on top and hollow when tapped. Remove loaf from tin and leave to cool on a wired rack. Cover loaf with a clean tea towel.

Cheesy Broccoli Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup steamed broccoli (cauliflower may be substituted)
  • 1 diced small onion
  • 1 cup fresh milk (pre-warm to the desired temperature - do not boil)
  • ⅓ cup cheese
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon chicken bouillon powder (vegetable bouillon powder may be substituted)

Place all liquid ingredients into the LexSun Professional Blender container first, followed by the rest of the ingredients. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 5 or 6 minutes. Serve immediately

Cream of Avocado Soup

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups fresh chicken stock
  • 2 soft avocados (pulp only)
  • 2 teaspoons Lime juice (lemon juice may be substituted)
  • ¼ cup Tofu (fresh cream may be substituted)
  • 2 sprigs coriander (use the leaves only)
  • ½ teaspoon Celtic Salt (natural hand harvested sea salt)
  • ground pepper to taste

Place all ingredients (except the tofu) into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 5 or 6 minutes. Add the tofu to the blender container and press the High button and blend for about 10 - 15 seconds until well blended. Serve immediately.

Cream of Chicken Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sized baked potato
  • ½ small white onion
  • 1-2 celery stalks
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • ¼ milk powder
  • 2 ½ cups hot water
  • 100 grams cooked chicken

Place all ingredients (except the cooked chicken) into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 3 minutes. Add the cooked chicken to the blender container and press the Pulse button and pulse till the chicken is chopped to a desirable consistency (approx 10 pulses) Serve immediately.

Cream of Potato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 2 steamed potatoes
  • 1 steamed small onion
  • 1 steamed carrot
  • 1 steamed celery stalk
  • 1 cup steamed cauliflower flowerettes
  • 2 cups chicken stock (vegetable stock may be substituted)
  • ¼ cup fresh milk

Steam the first 5 ingredients until tender. In a separate bowl keep aside 1 cup of the steamed vegetables. Place remaining steamed vegetables and milk into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 3 minutes. Add the reserved steamed vegetables to the blender container and press the Pulse button and pulse till smooth (approx 5 pulses). Serve immediately.

Cream of Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium diced onion
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 cup fresh milk (or soy milk)
  • 300 grams fresh silken tofu (fresh cream may be substituted)
  • 200 grams diced tomato
  • ½ teaspoon Celtic Salt (natural hand harvested sea salt)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped basil
  • pepper to taste

Firstly, in a frypan saute the diced onion in oil for a few minutes until onion is transparent. Now place all ingredients, including sautéed onion into the LexSun Professional Blender. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 5 or 6 minutes. Serve immediately.

Curried Carrot Soup

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium carrots diced into large pieces
  • 2 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 small onion
  • ½ cup fresh milk
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder

Place all ingredients into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 6 minutes until you see steam rise through the lid. Serve immediately.

Hearty Vegetable Soup

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups fresh tomatoes
  • ¼ head cabbage
  • 1 cup raw carrots
  • 2 celery diced stalks
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 silverbeet or spinach
  • 4 cups stock of your choice (beef, chicken or vegetable stock)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • pepper and rosemary to taste
  • water to cover vegetables

Place all ingredients into the LexSun Professional Blender container and cover vegetables with water. Secure lid. Select the Low and blend for 10+ seconds until the vegetables are chopped. button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Transfer these blended ingredients plus the 4 cups of stock into a large pot and bring gently to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until soft and tender. Serve immediately.

Pumpkin Soup

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chicken broth (vegetable broth may be substituted)
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 3 cups steamed and mashed pumpkin
  • 1 cup sautéed onions
  • 3 garlic cloves (optional - may be roasted for a fuller flavour)
  • 3 tablespoons rapadura or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala or nutmeg
  • season with salt and pepper

Place all ingredients into the LexSun Professional Blender container. Secure lid. Select the Pulse button and pulse several times until the ingredients are broken down. Press the High button and blend for 6 to 7 minutes until you see steam rise through the lid. Serve immediately.


Grape Juice:

Ingredients:

  • 110g green grapes
  • 100g red grapes
  • 50g blueberries
  • small amount of sliced ginger
  • 1/4 of an orange
  • lemon juice (2)
  • and 1 cup of ice

Hot Tomato Smoothie:

Benefits: Vitamin A, lycopene, tomato and carrots that help fight cancer. Tomato also contains anti aging vitamin C.

Ingredients:

  • 300g of red ripe tomato
  • 75g carrot
  • 50g cucumber
  • 8g lemon juice
  • and 1/2 cup of ice

Celery Carrot Juice:

Benefits: Skin becomes smoother and hair also becomes silkier and helps with damaged tips of one’s hair.

Ingredients:

  • 250g celery
  • 100g carrot
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 apple
  • and plenty of sugar

Cholesterol Juice:

Benefits: Those having trouble with high blood pressure could have one cup every morning. Blood cleansing and helps make your body feel lighter.

Ingredients:

  • 110g apple
  • 15g carrot (8 pieces)
  • 1/2 orange (without seeds)
  • 15g cabbage
  • and 200g of ice

Carrot Tomato Apple Juice:

Benefits: Strengthens blood, lowers cholesterol rate in blood, stabilizes blood sugar and helps digestion.

Ingredients:

  • 110g carrot
  • 200g tomato
  • 100g apple
  • and 1 cup of ice (cut up the carrots, tomatoes and apples)

Juice for Low Blood Pressure:

Benefits: A juice that is good for those with low blood pressure or those that have difficulty getting up in the mornings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 x pieces of beet
  • 3 x tomatoes
  • 200g of ice

  • and add ice

Fruit Juice:

Ingredients:

  • one type of fruit (e.g. strawberry, tomato, etc)
  • 200cc of water
  • sugar
  • and 10 ice cubes

Banana Ice Cream:

Ingredients:

  • 1 x banana
  • 8 x ts cream
  • 40g condensed milk
  • 40g soft sugar
  • 500g ice
  • and 1/2 ts salt

Fresh Ginseng Juice:

Ingredients:

  • 100g Ginseng
  • 50cc of honey
  • and 200cc of water or milk

Banana Cappuccino:

Ingredients:

  • 500g of ice cubes
  • 2 x bananas
  • cream (for coffee)
  • 3 ts of condensed milk
  • 4 ts of sugar
  • 1/2 ts of salt
  • and 1 x instant Cappuccino
