Far Infrared Ray energy is a part of the natural light spectrum of sunlight without UV. It has already revolutionized well-being products in Asia , Europe and now USA and Australia.

Far Infrared Ray (FIR) is a form of light energy from the sun. It falls within the same family of Infrared Ray in the light spectrum. Due to its longer wavelengths, FIR cannot be seen by human eyes. The light energy is absolutely ESSENTIAL for human beings and all life on earth.

FIR has the ability to penetrate, refract, radiate & reflect. The human body can absorb FIR because of its deep penetrating ability. When FIR penetrates through the skin to the subcutaneous tissues, it transforms from light energy in to heat energy. The thermal effect within the deep layers of tissues cause blood vessels in capillaries to dilate.

The sun emits FIR energy that is absorbed by human cells, causing a physical phenomenon called “resonance.” FIR rays vibrating at a frequency to that of the human body are thus able to activate cells, and reactivate as well as strengthen resulting in a better blood circulation and an overall improved micro blood circulatory systems.

The body’s ability to also emit FIR energy is the reason behind some alternative healing practices such as "laying-on of hands"and "palm healing," a practice with some 3000 years of tradition behind it in China (known as “Qi-Gong therapy"). Our palms in fact emit far infrared energy at between 8 to 12 microns.

In Japan FIR heaters were used by the medical practitioners exclusively until 1979 when they were released for public use.

The energy radiated by infrared [IR] rays heats objects directly, i.e. the intervening air is not heated, a process known as "conversion." The IR segment of the Sun’s electromagnetic spectrum is divided into 3 parts:

• Near infrared wavelength: 0.076 to 1.5 microns
• Medium infrared wavelength: 1.5 to 5.6 microns
• Far Infra Red wavelength: 5.6 to 1000 microns

Our sun’s energy output comes mostly from the Infra Red segment of the spectrum, but it is the wavelength of between 6 and 14 microns that is of particular interest to FIR Sauna users.

The Far Infrared rays’ heat energy penetrate the body tissues to a depth of 4 to 5 cm quickly and efficiently, and instead of using energy to convert air to higher temperatures, as for example in a steam sauna, the energy is converted directly to heat the body. This is one of the reasons for reports of well being with the FIR Sauna system.

The FIR sauna operates at a significantly cooler air temperature of 55-65 °C, against the hot air sauna’s 80-110 °C.

When it is desired to enjoy only the FIR ray penetration, the front of the sauna cubicle may be left open, i.e. unzipped, for example for the purpose of a pre-activity warm-up, even when fully clothed, then minimal perspiration is likely to be experienced. This approach is useful for a warm-up prior to stretching, working-out, running or before exposure to cold weather, as well as being useful for those competing in international games.

Dr. Tsu-Tsair Oliver Chi observed in his explanation on the mechanism of actions of FIR devices tuned to the human body, that the internal production of infrared energy that normally occurs within our tissues experiences wellness via a phenomenon known as "resonant absorption."

All FAR INFRARED RAY SAUNAS are not created equal!!

The very heart of the FIR Sauna is its Heating Elements. The majority of FIR Saunas are fitted with "Ceramic Heating Elements" – also known as "Ceramic & Mineral Semi Conductors", depending upon the manufacturer.

Ceramic type semi conductor elements can use up to 70% of the available oxygen inside the cabin or enclosure, and breathing the oxygen-depleted air may lead to considerable discomfort for the users. Promoters of personal type saunas using the ceramic semi conductor elements would like you to believe that because the user’s head is outside the cabin, you do not breathe the oxygen depleted air; however, researchers have stated that the lack of oxygen take up through the skin is still felt, especially as heat causes skin pores to open.

Fortunately new technology deals with this problem. The FIR Sauna ED2000 Mk3 uses easily replaceable "patented, ultra-thin, super-conductive FIR emitting heating elements" now used in the design of modern FIR saunas.

These elements use just 5% of available oxygen inside the cabin and the user can relax and enjoy the many benefits attached to the use of a FIR Sauna.

The new portable personal FIR sauna ED2000 MK3 is designed to keep the user’s head outside the enclosure, thus the user is much more comfortable.
